Brookings Harbor, Harris Beach State Park, St. Timothy's Church, OREGON!! June 15-17, 2013

After 4 and 1/2 months in California, I finally set foot into the state of Oregon! It is beautiful in this southwest corner of Oregon and the climate is moderate all year round due to the hills on one side and the coast on the  other. We missed the Azalea Festival which was on Memorial Day.

The Harbor:
We could see the ocean from our room
with beautiful sunsets!
A little path through the driftwood. I learned
the driftwood comes from the redwood forests.
We were right on the Harbor
famous for the Dungeness crabs.
Crab pots on the right.
Fresh out of the water!
Sorted.
And loaded on the truck!
Downtown Brookings: We had a great time looking for all the bears.
Ready for bed!!
Check out the Dungeness crab
in the back pocket!

Pirate complete with
peg leg and monkey!
Up close. The "hair" is amazing in stone.
Of course we loved the viking!
This bear and the painted ones are
in front of a bank.
Artist Jeff Gogue did both bears.
The adult bear is "Integrity".
The adult bear has adult animals.
This eagle looks like it's hunting!
The fox looks real!
The baby bear, "Potential"

Has a cub, of course!

Up close!
And a fawn.
Harris Beach is just north of town:
Sign on Pacific Coast Highway 101
I climbed a rock and looked down.
This is the path on the rock. (see below)
Wild strawberries along the way.
Looking north.
Looking west.
"Beach" looking south
I walked on both sides, NOT to the top.
St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Father's Day 2013. They had a luncheon afterwards and invited me to join them. It was a pleasure meeting some mighty fine people.

See the tall trees!
The front door.
Sanctuary is on the left end.
Altar
The Altar side windows
I hope you can see the birds in the
window on the left photo.
This is the round one in the center.

A sample of all the side windows.
Each window a different color and flower.
St. Timothy's Banner
I didn't see the loft until I saw this photo!
St. Francis in the garden.

I know because of the bird.
I especially like statues made of
wood and this one is outstanding.
